About SheLeadHer

About SheLeadHer

Our Mission

SheLeadHer (SLH) is a Toronto-based, youth-led grassroots organization dedicated to providing structured wellbeing programming and direct resource support for girls and young women. We believe that when young women are supported with consistency, community, and access to resources, they lead — in their own lives and in the world around them.

Our programming is designed to be structured, intentional, and community-centered. We meet participants where they are, offering small-group weekend sessions that prioritize wellbeing, skill-building, and peer connection.

Our Founder

SheLeadHer was founded by a community development practitioner with over 3 years of direct experience at Davenport-Perth Community Ministry, one of Toronto's established neighbourhood hubs serving diverse and under-resourced communities. Our founder brings more than 10 years of volunteer experience spanning youth mentorship, housing support, food security, and environmental sustainability — a breadth of experience that shapes SLH's holistic, resource-informed approach to youth programming.

Who We Serve

SLH programming is designed for girls and young women in Toronto. We are committed to building inclusive spaces that welcome all youth who identify as young women, including those from LGBTQIA+ communities. We are intentional about creating environments where every participant feels seen, respected, and supported.

Why It Matters

Grassroots organizations like SheLeadHer fill critical gaps in structured, accessible programming for young women. We are community-built, community-accountable, and committed to long-term impact — not just one-time events. Our model is designed to be replicable, fundable, and scalable as we grow.

SLH Weekend Cohort Pilot – July/August 2026

SLH Weekend Cohort Pilot

July / August 2026 — Toronto

SheLeadHer is launching its first structured weekend cohort pilot this summer. This is a foundational step in building a replicable, community-centered program model for girls and young women across Toronto.

Program Overview

  • Duration: 6 weeks
  • Schedule: Weekend sessions
  • Session Length: 90-minute workshops
  • Group Size: 8–12 participants
  • Age Groups: Separate cohorts by age group

What to Expect

Each session is structured around wellbeing, skill-building, and peer connection. Participants will engage in facilitated workshops designed to build confidence, community, and practical life skills in a safe, supportive small-group environment.

Our small-group model ensures that every participant receives meaningful attention and that the group dynamic remains intentional and cohesive throughout the 6-week journey.

Who Can Participate

This pilot is open to girls and young women in Toronto. We welcome all youth who identify as young women, including those from LGBTQIA+ communities. Participants will be placed in age-appropriate cohorts.

Join the Pilot Interest List

Space is limited. If you are interested in participating or referring a young woman for the July/August 2026 pilot cohort, please add your name to our interest list. We will follow up with confirmed details, dates, and registration information.
